Karl Kippola* (George Hay) has performed in well over a hundred different productions throughout the country. Locally he has worked with such theatres as Bay Theatre Company, Everyman Theatre, Imagination Stage, Center Company, Round House, Olney, and the Shakespeare Theatre. Favorite roles include Robert Mayo in Beyond the Horizon, Roderigo in Othello, Jake in Jake's Women, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, and Don Lockwood in Singin' in the Rain. Karl holds a B.A. in Drama from the University of Montana, an M.F.A. in Acting from Wayne State University in Detroit, and Ph.D. in Theatre from the University of Maryland. He currently is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at American University and lives in Hyattsville with his lovely wife, Antoinette.  *Member AEA.

Sarah Imes (Charlotte Hay) is excited to continue her association with Firebelly Productions. She recently joined Firebelly in the Kennedy Center’s Page-To- Stage new play showcase in Conversing Elevens and Dunce. Some of her favorite past roles were Vicky in Blackmail (Off-Broadway), Svetlana in Chess (Baltimore), Rona in Kennedy’s Children (Maryland Ensemble) and Natasha in The Three Sisters (Los Angeles). Her training includes an MFA from California State University, Fullerton. When not on stage she devotes her time to running a small decorating business, messing up crossword puzzles, and ignoring nutritional information on chocolate.

Jean Miller Hudson (Ethel) has been performing in DC regional theatre for 25 years. She has played classical roles: Midsummer Night's Dream (Theseus, Snug);Richard III (Queen Margaret); Heartbreak House (Nurse Guinness);Pygmalion (Mrs. Pearce); and most recently, The Women of Trachis (Nurse). She has also played the opposite end of the dramatic spectrum:a demonic grandmother (Baked Baby), a psychotic storyteller (Poona the F*ck Dog), and an aging nyphomaniac (The Erpingham Camp), all with Cherry Red Productions. Favorite roles over the years however, have been comic ones, including Betty in The Foreigner; Mary in Kilt, Madge in Philadelphia, Here I Come, and Penny Sycamore in You Can't Take It with You. Jean is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and The Actors' Center, for which she served on the Board and produced their Scene Showcase for four years.

Ann Walker (Rosalind) recently made her first appearance with Firebelly as the Boy in Waiting for Godot, which performed here at Theatre on the Run and in Prague, Czeck Republic, in August 2004. Ann has been in such shows as 42nd Street, Hello Dolly, and Father of the Bride. She has played Mammy in Lil’ Abner, Eileen in One Foot in Heaven, Mercy Lewis in The Crucible, and Julie in The Family Nobody Wanted.

William Jenkins  (Howard) has worked for years in TV, but never as a weatherman. He makes his debut on stage in Northern Virginia after roles elsewhere in Fiddler on the Roof, Our American Cousin, The Beams Are Creaking, Narnia and The Gift of the Magi. He also performed for three years in a touring revue with the Ambassador Stage Company in Hampton Roads, Virginia. He has done voice work for regional and national radio education ads. Last summer, William participated in a performance workshop under Vyacheslav Dolgachev, Artistic Director of the New Moscow Drama Theatre.

Lauren Antonia Griffin (Eileen) is making her Firebelly debut, having graduated from The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in May. At the conservatory she played such roles as Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Catherine in An Enemy of the People, and Ruth in Book of Days. Other roles include Fan Scrooge/Martha Cratchit in A Christmas Carol at the West End Dinner Theater, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, Luisa in The Fantasticks, Donna Lucia D'Alvadorez in Where's Charley?, and Gertrude in An Ideal Husband, the last five under the direction of Kathi Gollwitzer. Lauren spends most of her time getting handcuffed by “Feds” at law enforcement training academies. Thank you's to my family, Kathi, and God.

Josh Drew (Paul) recently joined Firebelly Productions in its Page to Stage production of Conversing Elevens and Dunce at the Kennedy Center. His previous experience includes The Shakespeare Theatre at the Kennedy Center: Young Patron in Five by Tenn; Actor's Theatre of Washington, Jean Bilodeau in Lilies The Shakespeare Theatre: The Boy/Ensemble (u/s in perf) in The Silent Woman; Madcap Players: The Man in Buyer’s Market; The American Century Theatre: Bomber in Picnic; Trumpet Vine Theatre Company: Kidnapper # 3 in Abducting Diana; Bohemian Acting Company: Victor in Four Dogs and a Bone; Maintenance Shop Theatre: The Thief in Dark Ride. Joshua is a graduate of Iowa State University, with a degree in Acting/Directing.

Brian Farrell (Richard/Soldier) who debuted with Firebelly Productions in Showcase of Scenes in July 2004, has been active in community theatre. His roles include Sam Beauregard in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Rufus Stumblebeam in Murder in the News, Max Detweiler in The Sound of Music, Paul in Moon over Buffalo, and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Brian also was a fight choreographer for this production.

Karen Schlumpf (Stagehand/Soldier) joined Firebelly in its Showcase of Scenes in July 2004. She has performed in community theatre for the past 7 years. Her characters have ranged from the March Hare in Alice in Wonderland to Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible and Maria in The Sound of Music. Karen has training in music, dance, and stage combat, and serves as a fight choreographer for this production.
